Amino-acid cleansing base
Sodium cocoyl glutamate forms part of a milder surfactant system for daily cleansing.

A fragrance-free foaming cleanser designed to remove daily build-up while maintaining a comfortable after-feel for sensitive and reactive skin.
Product promise
The formula is organised as a system. Each part has a defined role rather than a decorative ingredient story.
Sodium cocoyl glutamate forms part of a milder surfactant system for daily cleansing.
Glycerin, propanediol and betaine support a more comfortable after-feel.
Coco-glucoside and glyceryl oleate soften the sensory profile and reduce a stripped finish.
Evidence record
RENS Foaming Cleanser was screened for pH behaviour under three storage conditions and foam-volume behaviour over a 20-minute bench test.
Recorded from day 0 to day 13 across no-test, 4°C and 40°C samples.
Foam volume retained after 20 minutes, from 4.5 mL to 3.5 mL.
Total foam and solution volume retained after 20 minutes in the recorded screen.
pH screening
The line graph compares recorded pH under three storage conditions. The narrow range supports formula screening context, not a finished-product stability claim.
| Time | No test | 4°C | 40°C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 0 | 5.43 | 5.43 | 5.42 |
| Day 5 | 5.40 | 5.44 | 5.39 |
| Day 8 | 5.40 | 5.43 | 5.38 |
| Day 9 | 5.43 | 5.42 | 5.38 |
| Day 11 | 5.42 | 5.42 | 5.39 |
| Day 13 | 5.41 | 5.42 | 5.40 |
Preliminary in-house screening. Long-term stability, preservative efficacy and dermatological testing would be required before final commercial claims.
Foam screening
Foam retention was calculated from the recorded foam volume at 20 minutes. FSI was recorded as 89, with foam drainage recorded as 0.5.
| Time | Foam + solution | Foam volume |
|---|---|---|
| 0 min | 9.50 | 4.50 |
| 1 min | 9.50 | 4.50 |
| 5 min | 9.00 | 4.00 |
| 10 min | 8.75 | 3.75 |
| 15 min | 8.50 | 3.50 |
| 20 min | 8.50 | 3.50 |

Selected literature notes
The selected literature informs the formulation direction. It does not represent clinical testing of the finished product.
Selected as part of a milder cleansing base designed for daily use.
Supports water binding and a more comfortable after-feel during cleansing.
Helps soften the sensory profile and reduce the stripped feeling associated with stronger cleansers.
Current formula record

Lab notebook
“RENS began with a simple formulation question: can a cleanser feel clean without feeling harsh?”
The development goal was not maximum foam. It was balance: a soft microfoam, a mild pH range, clean rinsing and a comfortable after-feel suitable for sensitive-skin routines.
During development, the surfactant system, clarity, odour profile, flow, foam structure and pump compatibility were adjusted through multiple trials. Each version was assessed not only for how it looked on day one, but how it behaved over time.
The final direction reflects the N°55 approach: restrained, barrier-conscious and tested for balance rather than excess.

Packaging & Responsibility
Packaging choices are considered alongside formula performance. These notes describe the current direction, not a claim of environmental perfection.
Routine guidance
Introduce one new formula at a time. Final directions on the product label take precedence.
Use one to two pumps on damp skin.
Massage gently without scrubbing.
Rinse thoroughly and pat dry before moisturising.
It is designed as the daily cleanser in the N°55 routine. Adjust frequency if your skin feels uncomfortable.
Rens is the first step, before toner, serum and moisturiser.
Yes. The current Rens formula record contains no added fragrance.
Stop use if irritation occurs and seek professional advice for persistent symptoms.
